Designing A Bespoke Outdoor Kitchen In Surrey
Step into the world of luxury with our latest custom built outdoor kitchen in Guildford, Surrey. Matching the architectural beauty of the house with its cedar battening, it's a visual treat that adds a touch of elegance to this garden.
This particular house was such a pleasure to design a wonderful outdoor living space for. They have views that look out to the city and as you walk down the garden, it has different sections or rooms like a house, made by hedges, trees, plants and tall pots. Walking back towards the house, you walk up to the top terrace with a polished concrete surface where we were given our spec to design them an outdoor living area that complimented the house itself.
The house already had a beautiful cedar cladding that we immediately wanted to replicate within the BBQ living space. We opted for a cedar baton and tried to match up the colours with the house as closely as we could.
For cost-effective purposes when designing an outdoor BBQ area, we choose to build a timber frame. There are many ways to build the foundations of an outdoor kitchen such as concrete blocks, a metal frame or timber frame. A timber frame is quick and easy to assemble that leaves minimal mess. Once the frame was put together, we screwed a cement board - which is heat and fire proof - to the frame.
This outdoor kitchen itself includes a Kamado Joe - a ceramic oven ideal for slow cooking, smoking, grilling and cooking pizzas. With no storage underneath, this Kamado oven is sat on a supportive solid frame. To the right, we installed a low storage shelf and soft-closing, push cupboard that houses a bin. Very important to think about storage and enclosed bin space when designing your own outdoor kitchen living space. We were informed by the customer that this part of the garden gets very exposed to the elements so we suggested push-cupboards/drawers to avoid cupboards getting blown open by the wind. Push cupboards and drawers open and close with magnets, keeping them firmly closed when needed.
The statement piece in this outdoor kitchen is the BeefEater 7000 Series - a premium 5 Burner Built-In BBQ, your ultimate solution for diverse and enjoyable outdoor cooking experiences. With two more shelves to the right of the BBQ, there is ample space for storage in this bespoke outdoor kitchen. With fitted outdoor electrics, you can plug in outdoor kitchen accessories for the BBQ or wire in external speakers, or why not add additional outdoor lighting for a surreal evening dining experience.
The 30mm Dekton Danae worktops compliment the wood work beautifully. A thick cream coloured worktop waterfalling over the contrasting cedar wood makes this kitchen really pop. Easy going on the eye that will also hold up against the elements.
Another successful outdoor kitchen build that has been a wonderful experience custom designing an outdoor space to the customers needs and desires.
